Quilts of Valour
One of the Guild’s charitable projects is the making of quilts about 50 x 60” for Canadian armed forces men and women who have been severely wounded while on duty in Afghanistan. These are called Quilts of Valour, and people across Canada make quilts for this purpose. The plan for the Guild is to continue until Canadian troops are withdrawn, hopefully by the end of 2011.
If you feel like piecing a Q of V top, let me know! I have maple leaf squares, and coordinating fabric, all ready to go. Maybe you prefer to make a favourite pattern or try a new one (it does not have to be with maple leaf squares) – I have fabric just waiting for your ideas! The following link can help you get the Maple Leaf block pattern should you want one: www.quilterscache.com.
I can be reached at 604 -943-2678 or encarta@dccnet.com
